A stay in our holiday flats will enable you to notice that the climate in Moneglia is mild most of the year and for those of you keen on swimming in the sea, the outdoor activities season usually starts in March and lasts till the second half of October. In addition to standard sea sports, renting a holiday flat in Moneglia offers you the possibility of practising more specialised activities such as Scuba Diving, Free Climbing on high sea cliffs and Surfing on the waves of the bay facing La Secca Beach. You’ll find the breaking waves are at their best at the start and end of the summer months. This beautifully indented coastline full of coves is ideal for boat excursions and interesting Scuba Dives.

With a fast motorboat, you can reach Santa Margherita, Portofino and the Cinque Terre in about 45 minutes. Alternatively, in the summertime these resorts can be reached thanks to a daily boat service calling at the pier close to Villafranca Castle, you can also go by car or by train, it’s only a short 20 to 30 minute train journey.
Along the Moneglia coastline there are free beaches or bathing establishments. Beaches are normally sandy, pebbly or rocky depending on the part of the coast.
Moneglia offers a seaside holiday but it also offers an interesting hilly hinterland, cultivated with olive trees and vineyards where you can walk/hike and go on inland valley excursions. Lovely rambles will take you to the various hamlets around the village.
Lemeglio, Comeglio, Littorno, San Saturnino, Bracco and San Lorenzo. In the surrounding countryside there are many magnificent Chestnut and Pinewood forests.
If you cross the hills that encircle the village you will find two pretty neighbouring coastal towns called Riva Trigoso and Deiva Marina.

Those of you who wish to leave your cars behind can take advantage of the handy railway connections that enable you to travel the length and breadth of the ‘Riviera del Levante’ from Camogli to the Cinque Terre and further. Portovenere and Lerici can be reached by taking the train up to La Spezia and from there you can proceed by bus. From Moneglia you can easily go on day-trips to other tourist resorts such as Versilia, Lucca, Pisa, Genoa, the ‘Riviera del Ponente’ and the ‘Côte d’Azur’.
Entertainment is plentiful in Moneglia. Every summer, The ‘Felice Romani Musical Association’ organises a season of classical concerts. There is a wide variety of local festivities, village fairs, food fairs, touring theatre shows and light music performances as well as a cinema, photographic exhibitions and many other activities for your entertainment.
For those of you who would like to spend a more ‘fashionable’ kind of evening, resorts such as Sestri Levante, Santa Margherita-Portofino and Camogli are only a short drive away.
And to finish off, why not do some shopping in ‘Viale delle Palme’ or in the streets known as the ‘carruggi’. Along the picturesque narrow lanes you can look round the many elegant boutiques, fine wine shops and cheerful weekly markets… there really are many ways of having a great time!
